While technology issues and needs are constantly changing, these types of investments are not cheap and it can be extremely challenging to figure out where the funds are going to come from. As a technology integrator with over 20 years of education-specific experience, we understand how critical it is to stay on top of the latest funding trends and programs to help you maximize or even find more budget. TFE works well with capital leasing companies when special programs are not available, but for the programs below, we can also assist you with determining what type of products or services qualify.
Current special funding programs
The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) gives students and higher ed institutions access to emergency financial support for COVID-related disruption. These funds can be used in the technology space to help support remote/distance and COVID safe learning measures.
The ESSER Fund (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund) is designed to help K-12 schools address learning gaps and other challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grant and discount programs
E-rate, a government-funded discount program, provides discounts of up to 90% on high-speed internet access, wireless networking equipment, and related technology products and services to eligible schools and libraries.
TEA grant opportunities
Search for all state and federal grants administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Easily learn more about different programs your school may qualify for and due dates for applying.
Cooperative Contracts such as DIR, TIPS, and Buyboard are a great fallback to meet your school’s purchasing requirements and securing competitive discounted pricing when special grants or funding are not available. Check out our contracts page for more details on the contracts TFE participates in and what is covered.
